What to prepare for a faster signage quotation

A useful quotation needs enough context to recommend a construction, not just a price per centimetre. A few clear inputs reduce assumptions, shorten clarification rounds and make proposals easier to compare.

01

The six inputs that matter most

Provide the logo or artwork, target dimensions, quantity, installation location, desired date and photographs of the site. Vector artwork is ideal, but a clear PDF or image is enough for an initial assessment.

  • AI, EPS, SVG or PDF artwork where available
  • Overall width and height
  • Interior or exterior location
  • Wall, ceiling or freestanding mounting
  • Quantity and delivery location
  • Required installation or opening date
02

Photograph the full installation area

Include one wide photograph showing the surroundings and one closer view of the mounting surface. If possible, add a known measurement or mark the intended sign position. This helps assess scale, access, cable exits and surface conditions.

03

State what is fixed and what is open

If the artwork, light colour or mounting method is still flexible, say so. A recommendation can then compare alternatives instead of pricing an unsuitable assumption. If a brand manual or architectural detail is fixed, attach it so the proposal respects those constraints.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I request a quote without vector artwork?

Yes. A clear image or PDF is enough for an initial review. Vector artwork may be requested before final production.

Do I need exact dimensions before asking?

Not always. An approximate width and a site photo can support an early recommendation, but confirmed dimensions are required before production.
