Neon flex, liquid acrylic or 360° acrylic neon?

These systems can create a similar line of light, but they are not interchangeable. The right choice depends on whether the priority is graphic flexibility, a very clean face, all-round visibility or a particular installation method.

LED neon flex: flexible and efficient

LED neon flex uses a flexible illuminated profile fixed to a shaped carrier or mounting surface. It is well suited to lettering, logos and flowing graphics because tight curves and long continuous lines can be produced efficiently.

The carrier shape, line spacing and cable exits have a major influence on the final result. A carefully contoured acrylic backing can feel minimal; a rectangular backing is more visible but can simplify mounting.

  • Best for detailed logos and lettering
  • Static colour, RGB-W and full-colour control options
  • Wall, ceiling and freestanding constructions are possible when planned correctly

Acrylic neon: a cleaner, more solid object

Acrylic neon is machined from a solid acrylic body. The illuminated channel and outer surface are finished as one precise object, which gives it a more substantial and architectural character than a flexible profile.

For 360-degree acrylic neon, the body is radius-ground and polished so light and material remain visible around the entire form. It is selected when the object will be viewed from several angles or must feel like a premium standalone element.

  • Solid, machined construction
  • Rounded and polished surface
  • Suitable for all-round viewing and close-up details

Choose by context, not by name

Start with the artwork, overall dimensions, viewing distance and mounting location. A fine script logo may favour neon flex, while a freestanding object in a reception or exhibition environment may justify solid 360-degree acrylic.

Send the intended design and a photograph of the installation area before the construction is fixed. This makes it possible to compare line thickness, backing, cable routing and mounting as one system.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is acrylic neon the same as LED neon flex?

No. LED neon flex is a flexible illuminated profile, while acrylic neon is machined as a solid acrylic body with a more substantial, polished finish.

Can 360-degree acrylic neon be suspended?

Yes, when the suspension points, cable route, weight and viewing angles are included in the construction from the start.
